“Vocal Group of the Year”
– Los Angeles Music Awards
GROUP BIO
Imagine...

The smooth soul of Stevie Wonder, the percussive power of Stomp, the funk and drive of Earth, Wind, & Fire, the hip licks of Take 6, and the brass bite of the Harry Connick Jr. Big Band

All created by the human voice alone!

Hailed "one of the best pop-jazz vocal groups in the world" by the San Francisco Chronicle, m-pact is respected worldwide as a cutting edge trailblazer in the realm of vocal music. Emerging from an age of auto-tune and overproduction, this Los Angeles-based sextet has cultivated a new generation of ears hungry for the fresh, raw power of nature's "first instrument" - the human voice.

From the beginning, the "pact" of these well-studied masters has been to stay true to Music, regardless of style or genre. Their sophisticated sound and accessible appeal have garnered vast accolades, from Vocal Group of the Year from the LA Music Awards, an Indie nomination (the Independent GrammyTM), and Artist of the Year (Seattle Music Awards), to Grand National Champs of the Harmony Sweepstakes competition.

Touring renowned fine arts halls and jazz festivals across four continents, m-pact has performed with pop superstars Sheryl Crow, Boyz II Men, Kenny G, Liza Minnelli, Babyface, Heart's Ann Wilson and Jackson Browne to name a few, as well as with jazz legends from Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, Take 6, and the New York Voices to the Woody Herman Orchestra and the Maynard Ferguson Big Band. Over the last dozen years, their signature sound has been used in both TV themes and animated Disney feature films, and is enjoyed on syndicated radio worldwide.

Around the globe, mesmerized audiences buzz from the thrill of m-pact's vocal acrobatics, innovative orchestrations, and commanding yet authentic stage presence. Unknowing ears of all ages come expecting entertainment but leave enriched from an indescribable experience: the musical journey across Technicolor soundscapes produced by this "Cirque du Soleil of Song". Last year, m-pact was honored to be the first foreign artist ever granted permission to perform at Istana, the Singaporean House of Parliament.

Each of m-pact's five original studio recordings has received rave reviews and multiple awards, including Best Jazz Album, Best Pop/R&B Song, Best Male Vocalist, and Best Vocal Arrangement (the CARA Awards), Best Seasonal Album ("Indie" nomination), and Best Unsigned Band (Billboard Magazine). Pristine production, creativity, and solid songwriting are among the many strengths showcased on every m-pact recording. With national distribution by City Hall (USA) and int'l distribution by Feel Music (Korea), Universal subsidiary FAB Records (Japan), and Echeo Records (Europe), m-pact's music continues to reach the ears of new fans around the world.
MEET THE GUYS
Britt Quentin - soprano
Soaring as m-pact’s soprano lead, Britt brings a powerful balance of agility and passion to the group’s vocal artistry. This prodigy discovered his gifts playing in church music groups at age six and continued to sharpen his skills through his study of Music Ed. and Vocal Performance at Detroit’s Wayne State University. Suffering a dual addiction to song-writing and french fries, this prolific genius leaves a trail of production credits and fast food cartons behind him worldwide. As Artistic Director it is Britt’s voracious appetite for musical excellence that shapes m-pact’s signature sound.  Send Britt an email.

Fletcher Sheridan - alto
It’s hard to say which aspect is most endearing to fellow m-pacters about Fletcher – his bright, chirpy personality, his incessant singing to himself, or his perfect pitch. Woodshedding his musical skills in the LA session scene since the age of 16, Fletcher has amassed a wide spectrum of musical experiences that he brings to m-pact.  He also received his BA in Music Industry Studies from Cal State University, Northridge. From overtone singing to wailing scat solos to French chamber music, Fletcher thrives on versatility and pushing the envelope. All endearment and experience aside, Fletcher’s smiling eyes when singing always leave the world a happier place.  Send Fletcher an email.

Marco Cassone - tenor
Visionary as a co-founding member, Marco works as internal entrepreneur to help turn m-pact’s musical inspiration into reality. He graduated from the U. of Washington in Vocal Performance and Music Psychology, a dual degree which continues to bring thoughtful wisdom to Marco’s commitment to empowering others. Beyond music, his interests include business, philosophy, photography, travel, physical therapy, writing, and world religions, true testimony to Marco’s seemingly unmitigated I.Q. and apparently unmedicated A.D.D.  Send Marco an email.

Jeff Smith – tenor / vocal percussion
Homegrown in America’s Heartland, Jeff brings humility and humanity to m-pact. After this Kansas native studied Music Therapy and Education at KU with an emphasis in voice and bassoon, he founded and directed the critically-acclaimed a cappella group, “measureXmeasure”. Boasting an arsenal of talent and never afraid to steal the show, Jeff is known as “The Human Drum Machine” by m-pact fans around the world. Jeff brings a friendly, father-figure role to both m-pact and to his bouncing baby son, Noah (from whom Jeff learns all his beatbox secrets).  Send Jeff an email.

David Loucks - baritone
David’s musical journey began at the age of 8 with the French Horn.  However, as a music major at Azuza Pacific University, David found his love for singing. Studying voice and performing as a soloist with the University Choir, as well as leading several small vocal ensembles touring the US and Europe, David quickly gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that has proved invaluable as a career musician.  David has worked in the Los Angeles area as a studio vocalist and arranger for the past 10 years, performing with such renowned artists as Barry Manilow, Sandi Patti, Crystal Lewis, David Pack, and The Alley Cats.  However, perhaps his proudest achievement to date is receiving the coveted award for coolest hair in m-pact.

Trist Ethan Curless - bass
Often felt more than heard, subsonic Trist lays the foundation of the harmonic house of m-pact. Musically intuitive from the start, his study of Music Education at the U. of N. Colorado further introduced this co-founding member to percussion ensembles, jazz bands, choral/vocal groups, and full-scale operas. His impressive 100,000 track digital jukebox is exactly what you get when a true musicologist practices music retail therapy. When not absorbing new music, his natural eloquence and instinct for instruction draw international interest in Trist as a respected voice in music education.  Send Trist an email.
